Reporting to the Controller and VP, Finance, this is a crucial position that ensures accurate
payroll processing, compliance with regulations, and the effective administration of the
company’s benefit and pension programs as well as providing accounting/finance support to the
team.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Payroll, Benefits & Pension Administration
· Administers all weekly (union) & bi-weekly (union + non-union, hourly, salaried and
Board of Directors) in collaboration with Operations to ensure a timely and seamless end
to end payroll process.
· Reconciles and enters all timesheets. Processes new hires, employee changes and
terminations.
· Prepares payroll journal entries and books all payroll entries in a timely manner

Job Summary
The Heavy Duty Mechanic required to perform repairs, overhauls, maintain and service diesel powered power sweepers, water trucks, and forklifts. Expectations for the mechanic are stringent and we required they act in a professional manner at all times. The successful applicant will report directly to the Operations Manager.
Duties:
· Fabricate, construct, install, and repair the equipment/machinery
· Diagnose equipment problems and determine repairs needed
· Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease down-times, and streamline
work processes
· Perform daily safety and maintenance checks
· Repair, overhaul, maintain, and service:
· Diesel powered vehicles, and any material handling.
· Fuel injection systems, exhaust systems, cooling systems, air conditioning systems,
lubrication systems, engine control systems, major internal engine repairs or overhaul, installation and alignment of engines and machinery
· Drive trains and final drives, hydraulic transmissions, power take-offs, tracked vehicle suspensions and steering, vehicle brake systems, wheel-mounted vehicle suspension mechanisms and steering
· Works closely with purchasing to determine appropriate inventory levels for machinery
· Practices workplace safety
· Other duties as required
Requirements:
· Minimum 5 years’ experience required
· Experience on street sweepers
· Strong English speaking skills
· Red Seal Certification (or equivalent hours & willing to take exam).
· Strong safety background
· Ability to travel and work in remote locations when necessary
· Ability to satisfy all job related responsibilities as described above
· Ability to read and write to keep daily records including maintenance reports and documentation
· Stress & time management skills
· Able to weld (gas and AC/DC)

The Heavy Duty Mechanic required to perform repairs, overhauls, maintain and service diesel powered power sweepers, water trucks, and forklifts. Expectations for the mechanic are stringent and we required they act in a professional manner at all times. The successful applicant will report directly to the Operations Manager.
Duties:
· Fabricate, construct, install, and repair the equipment/machinery
· Diagnose equipment problems and determine repairs needed
· Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease down-times, and streamline
work processes
· Perform daily safety and maintenance checks
· Repair, overhaul, maintain, and service:
· Diesel powered vehicles, and any material handling.
· Fuel injection systems, exhaust systems, cooling systems, air conditioning systems,
lubrication systems, engine control systems, major internal engine repairs or overhaul, installation and alignment of engines and machinery
· Drive trains and final drives, hydraulic transmissions, power take-offs, tracked vehicle suspensions and steering, vehicle brake systems, wheel-mounted vehicle suspension mechanisms and steering
· Works closely with purchasing to determine appropriate inventory levels for machinery
· Practices workplace safety
· Other duties as required
Requirements:
· Minimum 5 years’ experience required
· Experience on street sweepers
· Strong English speaking skills
· Red Seal Certification (or equivalent hours & willing to take exam).
· Strong safety background
· Ability to travel and work in remote locations when necessary
· Ability to satisfy all job related responsibilities as described above
· Ability to read and write to keep daily records including maintenance reports and documentation
· Stress & time management skills
· Able to weld (gas and AC/DC)
· Valid Driver's License with Clean Drivers Abstract
· Reliable transportation, work location does not have close access to public transportation

· Weekends as needed

· Use of close and distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to
adjust focus.

Hello, my name is Stephanie and I am proud to be part of the kʷikʷəƛ̓əm Nation. I have worked at SLD for over five years. I started in traffic control protocol but got promoted in 2021 and I am now a Heavy Equipment Operator. Working here has given me the confidence to try new things because everyone is supportive and gives you a ‘can-do attitude! I’m really afraid of heights and enclosed spaces, which isn’t ideal for my role, but the management has full faith in me and trusts me.
