Saskay Land Development

Saskay Land Development LP (Saskay) is owned by the Kwikwetlem First Nation and currently operates a 125-acre development site located on the Kwikwetlem Indian Reserve #2 (IR2). Saskay brings in an average of 500 trucks per day of various substantial structural fill for the future development on IR2.

KFN Domcor is a 51% joint venture with Domcor Health, Safety and Security, Inc. KFN Domcor provides a fully integrated suite of health and safety services, including First Aid, Traffic Control and Security solutions. KFN Domcor offers community-based training in all aspects of a health and safety program, delivered locally or globally. KFN Domcor has proven industrial training programs, including first aid training and confined space training.

KFN Domcor can provide core services such as Security (lay down yards, construction, access control to sites, etc), First Aid services - subject to location of work and proximity of Hospitals, MTC units with OFAIIIs, Traffic Control for trucks and deliveries, CSO's for construction safety, and general labour and more.


KFN is a partner with Vancouver Pile Driving Inc. (the largest and oldest marine civil contractor in BC) in KFN Vanpile (51%) for various marine civil engineering and civil construction works. KFN Vanpile is able to provide a wide range of services including, marine construction, pile driving, dredging, slope protection, densification, concrete floats, underwater installations and related environmental remediation. KFN Vanpile have completed projects together including the Glenrose Tidal Marsh Project (Port Metro Vancouver) and the Port Mann Pumphouse Project (BC Hydro).

KFN Vanpile are particulary interested in design-build opportunities for the marine elements of any large projects.


The KFN have a multi-project partnership with Quantum Murray, a national environmental remediation and demolition company. Quantum Murray holds contracts for emergency spill and site remediation services for large national clients such as Canadian Pacific Railways. The KFN hold a 51% stake in the KFN Quantum-Murray Joint Venture. The Joint Venture has successfully completed projects including: the Wilson Farm Project (MoTh), Riverview Demolition/Remediation Project (Shared Services BC), Glenrose Tidal Marsh Project (Port Metro Vancouver) and Port Mann Pumphouse Project (BC Hydro).


Polygon Homes is BCs largest private homebuilder. KFN have a protocol agreement for working together to develop various residential developments. Polygon specializes in large condominium developments, but also owns Morningstar Homes, a developer of detached homes.


KFN has recently signed a 51% joint venture arrangement with Milestone Environmental Contracting. Milestone is a national environmental contracting firm and boasts that no other environmental contractor in Canada can claim the same level of engineering and project-management expertise.

KFN Milestone will provide the following services:

  • soil and groundwater remediation
  • passive reactive barrier walls
  • groundwater cut-off walls (soil-bentonite, cement, concrete)
  • lagoon and pond remediation
  • remedial excavation with shoring or underpinning
  • soil stabilization
  • in-situ remediation using electric resistive heating
  • water treatment
  • landfill closure and capping
  • design-build remediation contracting

KFN Milestone are also conducting feasibility on providing a hydro-carbons bioremediation facility at Coquitlam Indian Reserve No. 2, and expect to open the facility by the Summer of 2016.


KFN Core 6 Environmental is a 51% JV between KFN and Core 6 Environmental, a full service environmental consulting firm. Core 6 is the KFN partner on the present Riverview contaminated sites project, and the contractor for a full environmental assessment of the Kwikwetlem Development Site, pre-development. KFN, Core 6 and Domcor (see below) are also presently working cooperatively on developing training programs for environmental support services for First Nations.
